Meet Your Doula
Hi, I'm Ashley! (she/hers)

I first learned about doulas in my early twenties. I felt a strong desire to become a birth worker but I did not feel I had the "right experience" at the time. Life got in the way, as life often does, and I pushed that dream aside to explore other opportunities...
In 2022, my partner and I moved to the Eastern Sierra to follow our love for backpacking, rock climbing, and enjoying the outdoors. While trying to have a child of our own, I became aware of how few community-based birth care options were available in the region. For over a decade, I have felt a calling to become a doula, however, it wasn't until seeing the need in my community that gave me the courage to pursue birth work. I'm often asked why I decided to become a doula. My answer? I feel on a cellular level that this is what I should have been doing all along.
I believe that birth is an instinctual and sacred experience. My role is to help you achieve that experience through guidance and support. As your doula, I will be your advocate, a non-judgmental space, a source of evidence-based information and a provider of comfort during your pregnancy, labor, postpartum and beyond.
I strongly believe that every person deserves dignity in birth. I support single parents, families of color, and LGBTQ+ families. I believe that all parents should have access to doula support. If you feel that my fees may be prohibitive, please reach out and let's discuss your options.

Here in the Eastern Sierra, it can feel like expecting parents don't have as many options available as they would in a big city. There are no local birth centers or Midwives willing to attend a home birth, and travel to another region for care may not be realistic. The thought of a hospital birth may seem scary to those who would otherwise choose another option if available. That's where I come in...
My goal is to help you achieve a birth experience that is on your terms and to help you navigate the hospital setting. I have devoted time to learning local hospital policies and meeting with staff so that I can more easily advocate for you and your growing family. Whether you're comfortable with a hospital birth or you have concerns about getting the experience you desire, my priority is making sure you feel safe, informed, and prepared for birth.
